Case Studies
A selection of engagements that illustrate the depth of our work and the outcomes we help our clients achieve. Details have been anonymised to protect client confidentiality.
The Situation
A specialist lender with $2.4B in assets under management faced accelerating margin compression as digital-native competitors entered its core segments. The board required an independent assessment of strategic options and a clear path forward.
Our Approach
We conducted a comprehensive competitive landscape analysis, stress-tested the existing business model against three market scenarios, and facilitated a structured strategy process with the executive team and board. We identified two underserved segments where the client held genuine structural advantages.
The Outcome
The client pivoted its origination strategy toward the identified segments, reduced its cost-to-income ratio by 11 percentage points over 18 months, and returned to above-market loan book growth within two years.

The Situation
A privately-held manufacturing group operating across seven sites had grown through acquisition but had never integrated its operations. Margins had eroded steadily over four years, and the business lacked the management information to understand where value was being lost.
Our Approach
We designed and implemented a group-wide performance management framework, standardised key operational processes across sites, and built a management reporting infrastructure that gave leadership real-time visibility into performance drivers. We worked embedded with site management teams throughout.
The Outcome
Within 12 months, the group had recovered 340 basis points of EBITDA margin, reduced working capital by $8.2M, and established a continuous improvement culture that sustained gains beyond the engagement.

The Situation
The board of a US-headquartered professional services firm was evaluating the acquisition of a competitor — a transaction that would double the firm's headcount and extend its geographic footprint into four new markets. The board required independent counsel throughout the process.
Our Approach
We provided ongoing advisory support to the board from initial evaluation through to post-completion integration planning. This included independent review of the target's strategic rationale, challenge of management's synergy assumptions, and facilitation of the board's decision-making process at each stage gate.
The Outcome
The transaction completed on terms materially better than management's initial projections. Our challenge of the synergy model identified $3.1M of additional cost synergies not captured in the original business case, and the integration plan we co-developed delivered ahead of schedule.

The Situation
A premium consumer brand with strong domestic market position was facing a strategic choice: consolidate its national leadership or pursue international expansion. The founding management team required an objective framework for the decision and a credible plan for whichever path was chosen.
Our Approach
We assessed the brand's international transferability across eight target markets, modelled the capital requirements and risk profile of each expansion scenario, and stress-tested the domestic consolidation alternative. We then facilitated a structured board decision process and developed the execution roadmap for the chosen strategy.
The Outcome
The board selected a phased entry into three priority markets. The first market launch exceeded first-year revenue targets by 34%, validating the market selection methodology and the go-to-market approach we developed together.
